We are so excited to help Angela and Gregg announce their engagement on our blog! Be sure to read on for this very sweet story, and check out their fabulous engagement photos by VF Digital Photography!
Gregg Dirmeyer was born in Port Charlotte, Florida and moved to Tennessee when he was ten. Greg has a Bachelors in Business with a focus on Corporate Finance from East Tennessee State University. He currently works at Answer Financial as an insurance agent. Gregg enjoys reading a good book and pursuing his goals in life. He has four older brothers and comes from a wonderful family that he is proud of. Gregg recently bought a house for him and Angela to live in when they get married.
On December 29, 2011, Gregg came over to my house early in the morning since we were going to spend the day together. He looked up tickets to go to the Biltmore house that morning, but it was unfortunately sold out for the day. He was so upset that we could not go and I had been looking forward to going one day. I knew in the back of my mind that he would propose one day soon since we had discussed marriage a few times. I wondered if it was going to be the day, but I thought it would be postponed since the Biltmore did not work out. Gregg, being the persistent guy and goal achiever he is, took me out to the side of Mount LeConte in the Smokey Mountains National Park. We drove through the mountains and had fun on a nice little road trip there. Once we arrived, we enjoyed the beautiful view of the Smokey Mountains. He took me to a small path on the side of the mountain. There was snow on the ground and a gorgeous view ahead of us. Once we came to a spot where we were alone and the scenery was lovely, he got down on one knee, opened a ring box and said, "Angela Price, will you marry me?" My heart suddenly began to beat faster than before. I covered my mouth with my hands in astonishment and gasped, staring at him. I did not say anything, because he had taken me by surprise as I was speechless. He asked if it was a "no" jokingly, but I hugged him tight and whispered "yes, I will marry you" into his ears as tears began to form behind my eyes. He then told me all the reasons why he wanted to marry me. We sat on a log, enjoying each other's company. We talked about the beautiful ring and took pictures. The proposal was perfect, because he did it in a way that was "Gregg." The mountainside was the perfect spot to propose, because our first real date was hiking in the mountains to a waterfall. We also went hiking in the mountains there on other special occasions and picnicked beside the waterfalls. I was so excited and had known for a while that he was the one that God had sent to me. He was like my angel that watched over me and took care of me. I loved everything about him and was always anxious to see him the next day. Even when we are married, I will still be excited to see him everyday because he is everything to me. When I was younger, I wrote a list of standards that I would like my future husband to possess. Gregg meets all of them and much more. He is not musical like me, but he always supports me in music and encourages me to keep it going. He is the Christian man that I had been looking for. I believe that our relationship is strong and pure because I will have a reason to wear a white dress on my wedding day as Gregg has respected me throughout our relationship. I cannot wait to be married to Gregg Dirmeyer and spend the rest of my life with my soulmate.
Our wedding ceremony and reception will take place at Historic Scott Mansion on July 8, 2012. Our wedding theme is a Victorian wedding. We will also be traveling to Thailand next summer to have a more traditional Thai celebration with family there. Valerie Foley with VF Digital Photography is our photographer!
