Published: May 16, 2012
We sat down last month with Darla Walker of Castleton Farms to chat about the Castleton Bride Experience – a total wedding planning experience designed to be of highest quality with exclusive attention to detail. As described in the previous post regarding Castleton Farms’ use of Pinterest during planning, we caught a glimpse of what it was like for brides as they plan with Castleton’s wide range of vendors and experts. 1. What about your company or services makes you stand apart?
The Castleton Bride Experience. Not only does the venue offer state-of-the-art facilities and gorgeous amenities, but also couples who choose Castleton Farms as their wedding venue experience the highest level of planning and service possible. Castleton brides receive an average of 30 to 60 hours of professional planning assistance. Between five and eight assistants are available on the property the day-of, too. Brides never go without assistance!

2. How did you find your way into weddings?
Drs. Meade and Kathleen Edmunds own Castleton Farms. With the venue’s 108 acres of beautiful rolling hills, four elegantly decorated guest rooms, two parlors, and the family great room, it is easy to see how Castleton eventually became a prime spot for weddings. The grandeur of the property is further outlined by pavilions and sculptures, all laced with flowers. The gardens even have strung lights and captivating beauty – all of which make a bride’s ears perk up when described! Darla Walker came on board with Castleton as Facility & Event Director around two and a half years ago. At that time, she rebranded the venue and began the “Castleton Bride Experience.”

3. Describe the type of bride and/or couple that will have the most success working with you.
A couple who truly wants to create their dream wedding does well with Castleton, especially when budget is not necessarily a big issue. The venue offers many packages for various price ranges, including weekday and elopement packages, but caters more toward full weekend events.

4. What type of bride and/or couple would not be the right fit for you?
Small weddings with a desire for a lot of DIY likely would not be the best fit for Castleton Farms. However, every bride has the potential to be a Castleton Bride!
